TIPS MENULIS BAHAGIAN “ABOUT YOURSELF” DI PROFIL TUTOR ANDA
Berikut ialah beberapa tips atau panduan untuk anda menulis bahagian About Yourself yang menarik dan efektif. Perlu diingati, anda menulis bahagian ini untuk para ibu bapa/pelajar yang bakal melihat profil anda, oleh itu anda pasti mahu menonjolkan diri anda sehabis baik.

1. Apa anda sedang lakukan sekarang?
(e.g Saya ialah seorang tutor home tuisyen separuh masa dan juga sedang mengajar di pusat tuisyen)
2. Pengalaman anda secara terperinci mengajar setiap subjek & level
(e.g Mengajar BM UPSR selama 3 tahun, membaca Prasekolah selama 6 bulan)
3. Pencapaian pelajar yang telah anda bantu
(e.g Pelajar saya berjaya peroleh A dalam subjek BM UPSR dari gred C semasa ujian akhir tahun 5)
4. Cara/Teknik/Kemahiran mengajar anda?
(e.g Tahu teknik phonics, sediakan nota pengajaran sendiri, tahu teknik menjawab dan
pemarkahan PT3, berkebolehan memberi motivasi pada pelajar)
5. Personaliti sebagai seorang tutor yang dapat membantu pelajar anda
(e.g peramah dan mudah mesra dengan pelajar, penyabar, tegas)
6. Gunakan video profil untuk impak lebih berkesan
Video membolehkan ibubapa melihat personaliti anda. Ini peluang untuk membentuk first impression yang baik terhadap anda sebagai tutor. TIPS TO WRITE AN EFFECTIVE “ABOUT ME” SECTION
Here are a few tips or guides you can use to help you writing a good About Yourself section. Please bear in mind that you are writing for the parents or students who will be viewing your tutor profile, thus you must want to describe yourself in the best possible light.
Among the points you might want to include in the description are:
- What are you doing right now?
(e.g I’m currently working as an instructor at a language centre while teaching home tuition part-time)
- Tell your experience in detailed teaching a particular subject and level
(e.g I have 3 years experience teaching Mandarin for primary level, 2 years teaching Maths for UPSR)
- The result of your past students
(e.g One of my students managed to get A for English SPM from grade C)
- Your teaching method/techniques/skills
(e.g I assess my students via monthly tests and quizzes that I develop myself, I provided my own notes, I know techniques in answering KBAT questions for PT3)
- Your personality as a tutor
(e.g friendly, easy-going, can communicate well with children)

Video allows parents and students to see your personality. This is a great opportunity to give yourself a good first impressions as a tutor, at the same time build parent’s confidence to engage you as a tutor, even though you might not have much teaching experience yet.
