Hello everyone,

I am Dr Suffian Azizan, a geneticist working in cancer research, with 1 year of tutoring of school-level biology subjects during my PhD years as a part-time job. I love teaching biology at different levels and I have hands-on experiences teaching biology based on PT3, SPM and IGCSE syllabi. I worked as a teaching staff at Pusat Tuisyen Arjuna Bestari, Senawang, Negeri Sembilan in 2021-2022, and I have also taken on private one-on-one Biology and English subject coaching via online conferencing.

I am passionate with what I do and I have a personal goal in science communication, particularly towards increasing life science literacy amongst Malaysian youth. I am fluent in both English and Malay and I also have experiences in teaching secondary level English subject, focusing on intermediate and advanced grammar points. My students have gone to score well in school exams, but most importantly, many of them have expressed a newfound appreciation of biology (and English language).

Saya Dr Suffian Azizan, seorang penyelidik kanser. Saya mempunyai 1 tahun pengalaman mengajar subjek biologi di peringkat sekolah secara sambilan sewaktu saya masih mengerjakan kajian PhD saya. Saya berpengalaman mengajar mengikut sukatan pelajaran PT3, SPM dan IGCSE. Saya pernah bekerja sebagai tenaga pengajar di Pusat Tuisyen Arjuna Bestari, Senawang, Negeri Sembilan pada 2021-2022, dan saya juga pernah membimbing pelajar dalam subjek Biologi secara dalam talian, 'one-on-one'.  Saya fasih berbahasa Inggeris dan juga Melayu dan saya juga mempunyai pengalaman mengajar Bahasa Inggeris. Pelajar saya mendapat markah yang baik di sekolah, tetapi yang paling penting, ramai di antara mereka mula menghargai kepentingan fahamnya asas biologi.
